There are loads of benefits to working out in the morning. It has proven to lower your stress level and increase productivity. Exercising in the morning also jumpstarts your metabolism, which makes you burn more calories during the day, giving you an extra boost of energy. A morning work-out routine is also much easier to maintain, because the events of the day haven’t effected your mood. A scheduling issue or a extremely stressful day can easily result into skipping your work-out that night. These five exercises are a great way to kick off your day.

Jumping Jacks (25 Repeats)

Stand up straight with your close to each other and your arms hanging by your sides. Then simultaneously raise your arm above your head and jump up to spread your feet out wide. Then go back to your straight pose and repeat the movement twenty-five times.

Jog in place with high knee’s (60 seconds)

Flex the hip and bring your right knee up toward your belly button then as the right leg comes down, bring the left knee up. Alternate lifting the knees high as you jog in place. Do this for sixty seconds (that’s about 25 times for each knee).

Vanity Pushups (50 Repeats)

For this type of push up you could either use a footstool, exercise ball, chair or another lifted surface. Place both your hands on the footstool and walk your feet back until you’re at about a 45 degree angle to the footstool. Keep your body in a long line and bend your arms to lower yourself as close as you can to the footstool. Then push yourself up and repeat the movement 50 times.

Plie Squats (20 Repeats)

stand with your feet slightly wider than shoulder distance apart with your toes turned out into an about 45 degree angle. Bend your knees to lower your torso while keeping your back straight and abs tight. Then move back up and repeat the movement twenty times. If you feel confident you can also use weights to make the Plié more intense.

Jumping Jacks (25 Repeats)

To finish off the work-out and loosen up from the squats, do another set of 25 jumping jacks. After that, you are ready to hop in the shower and continue the rest of the day feeling extra energized and confident.
