Great NBA Playoffs Buzzer Beaters

The last minute of the 4th quarter of the first game in the series between the Milwaukee Bucks and the Boston Celtics was one to remember. Terry Rozier seemed to give the Celtics the win with his three, but the Bucks weren’t ready to give in. Khris Middleton got the ball with 00.5 seconds remaining, but somehow managed to tie the game. The Celtics did manage to win in overtime, but it’s definitely a fourth quarter to remember. Now, we’ve selected some other great buzzer beaters from previous playoffs.

 Glen Davis

Celtics – Magic, Game 4, 2nd round, 2009

Glen ‘Big Baby’ Davis managed to become the Celtics’ hero in this game against the Orlando Magic. With a few seconds to go and one point down, the Magic expected Paul Pierce to take the shot, but he passed to Davis, who took the shot. The Celtics would eventually lose the series.

Damian Lillard

Trail Blazers – Rockets, Game 6, 1st round, 2014

The last time the Trail Blazers won a playoff series was in 2000, but Lillard would end this negative streak. Lillard stayed calm and managed to give the Trail Blazers the win.

Paul Pierce

Wizards – Hawks, Game 3, 1st round, 2015

The third game in this series was a close one, as the Wizards had a 20-point lead at first, but the Hawks managed to fight themselves back in the game. But, they hadn’t counted on Paul Pierce. He got the ball, took a fade away jumper, and scored the ball via the backboard. Unfortunately, this would be their last win in the series, and the Hawks would advance.

Derek Fisher

Lakers – Spurs, Game 5, Western Conference Finals, 2004.

Fisher holds the record for most games played in the playoffs, and he definitely left his mark in this game. It was a horrible game for both teams, but Fisher managed to give it a great ending by hitting a fade away shot.

Chauncey Billups

Pistons-Nets, Game 5, 2nd round, 2004.

There are buzzer beaters, and there are buzzer beaters. With only a couple of seconds left, Billups took a few dribbles to get to midcourt, and had to shoot the ball. One way or another, the half-court shot banked off the glass, and went in. This send the game to overtime, which the Pistons lost.
